I really am. I have the Galaxy S3... can I not just get an HDMI adapter and accomplish the same thing the OUYA does?

Well, with this you can hook up a couple/few controllers and play with better control and with friends. Without having to worry about battery or a dock/outlet.
I for one do way too much on my phone anyway, to be able to play games on a big screen while texting/emailing etc, realistically.
Yes you could do that but this is just easier as you dont have to worry about batter life.
Plus, the price point makes it cheaper than other devices
That's pretty sweet that it's cheaper. Save on battery life.
I also believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that this device isn't going to be using 'traditional' android apps, and will have more of a 'gaming' focus.
I also read that all games must have a 'free' mode of some sort (either trial, free with in game purchases, or totally free)... and I also read that it will allow for a very wide development base (anyone who owns a OUYA will be able to develop for it), so I'm expecting a lot of more 'indie' or 'home brew' games as it were. Hell, we might even be getting some open source games...
I like to think a few GPL games will come out due to this... maybe like the linux gaming community.
Wikipedia also said that a N64 emulator will be available... imagine getting to play golden eye split screen again!!![]()
Also, there are already some OUYA exclusives announced by big name publishers, and I guarantee that more will follow. This should be though of a "gameing console," not just another "android device."
yeah man the try before you buy on all games idea.. this is neat. Will be interesting. and probably smart. Get em addicted up front.![]()
